Seramis is perfect for drip feed systems because of its water retention features, or rather the fact that all excess water is drained when using a well holed pot. This means Seramis can not be over watered and ensures roots do not drown.
With the water drained the integrity of the spaces between the granules is intact, this will allow fresh oxygen to reach the roots to maximise the aerobic reactions that occur at the roots surface.
It is these conditions that allow the grower using a simple system to control and fine tune the following parameters:-
Water times (per hour)
Water duration (min/sec)
Water Temp
Nutrient (ec/ppm)
PH
Aeration
Root stimulants
NPK boost
Pest control With these factors under control plants will have shorter growing times with larger flowers and fruits, the results are amazing.
Hydroponic systems can come in simple one pot/resevoir or a complex multi-pot system, Seramis can be used in all levels of equipment.
Seramis can be used in the propagation and cutting process, use Seramis in a small seeding pot and place in a heated propogator. Keep the Seramis well watered and healthy roots will appear in 7-10 days. Then pot with Seramis. The Seramis Plant Food is designed for the house plant market and is not suitable for hydroponic growing, we do suggest using a specific hydroponic solution.
Seramis is re-useable, when your plant has been cut down allow the pot to dry a little then remove the stem and root ball. shake off the loose Seramis, break the roots if you have too. Wash Seramis with a mild Hydrogen Peroxide or baby sterilizer solution, allow to settle then drain and rinse. This should remove most of the smaller roots, hand pick any remaining. Place on a sheet or newspaper and allow to dry. Seramis can be used over and over again, this makes Seramis a very inexpensive potting medium for your plants.
